Tissue engineer with more than a decade of experience in the development and commercialization of medical technologies from benchtop to bedside. He has served as the head of Research and Development for an industry-leading biotechnology firm. In his time there he was awarded the title of "Health Entrepreneur for Africa' by Pfizer and the African Finance and Investment Forum. He has successfully developed a wide range of products that are covered by all major medical aid schemes and used in South African private hospitals every day. Previously he has served as the chief technology officer for the company that produced the first lab-grown meat on the continent  and acted as one of Discovery Health's Inspiring Excellence speakers. He is a scientist at heart and finds most things fascinating.

A serial entrepreneur with a wide-ranging portfolio over a number of key industries, he has demonstrated a keen interest in biotechnology and how the body repairs itself. He is a businessman by trade with his main focuses on property investment, management, product commercialization and the trade of minerals and commodities. He was formerly the CEO of a successful technology company dealing in the import and export of strategic information systems. He currently serves as chairman of the board at Novatend LLC in addition to being the chief executive of business development.

An experienced sales manager, Jessica has worked as a sales representative at various South African companies specialising in orthopaedic medical device sales. She currently is a senior account manager for Novatend servicing the greater Gauteng area. In addition she services the periodontal and maxillo-facial market and manages day-today marketing activities and customer relations. She ensures that all orders are processed quickly and delivered to customers within 24 hours. She also provides surgeon training and in-theater assistance to new clients upon request.
